Julian Makena Lamont Williams recently relocated to the Lakewood, California area. He is currently a college student studying film. He first become familiar with surfing during a friend’s birthday party, and he said he has been hooked since. Now a pro-am surfer, Williams is sponsored by DMZ, Dark Seas, Fin.S, THELIQUIDJOINT, Yeww Surf wax and Black belt surfing. At a young age he was mentored by Montgomery Ernest Thomas Kaluhiokalani a surfer from Hawaii, known as Buttons. He was an innovator of modern surfing maneuvers and was known for his switch foot surfing and for performing the first backside 360 in a major surf film.
