Beyin Abraha // Surfer
Beyin Abraha was born in Ethiopia and raised in Toronto, Canada. He has lived in Dana Point, California for a year and a half. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and works for Beats Electronics. He has held previous positions at Apple and Tesla. Abraha has been surfing for about three and a half years after a college roommate introduced him to the sport. He said he has been hooked ever since and now centers much of his life around surfing. He is a project manager and founding member of Sofly Surf School, an organization that gives free surf lessons in Huntingdon Beach. An active community member, Abraha sits on the PaddleforPeace board as a vice-chair. The organization offers a wholistic approach to introducing people to the practice of surfing and protecting the ocean.
