Nick Gabaldón - Rick Blocker Series Unisex T-Shirt
Nick Gabaldón was born in 1927 to a Mexican American father and an African American mother. He grew up in Santa Monica and was drawn to the ocean from a young age. Despite racist barriers in the predominantly White sport of surfing, Gabaldon's determination made him a pioneer in the local surfing community. In the 1940s, during the racist segregation era, he became the first documented African American surfer in the Santa Monica Bay, breaking down barriers and paving the way for future surfers of diverse backgrounds.
This collection of designs is in collaboration with Rick Blocker, a lifelong surfer and Blacksurfing advocate. As such, it bears his signature and is part of the Rick Blocker series.
